These are how to do something, what does your subject matter relate to, and what is your point of view? And these are the same three questions that I ask myself all the time when I am preparing my own essay for college.
Originality is perhaps the most important thing to think about. You should never repeat yourself. The best way to do this is to write your essay from the point of view of someone who already knows the topic well. For example, if you are writing an essay on how to build a snowman, go to a snow area, and speak to a family that already knows how to build snowmen. You will see that they know exactly what to do, and you will come off sounding like a genius. Next up is what does your subject matter relate to? That is a relatively easy question to answer because once you have a general idea of what you want to say in your paper, all you have to do is to use this knowledge as a springboard. If you need to explain something, then describe it in plain English, but if you need to express something in terms of your point of view, then use a specific example, such as that of how the government is performing on the economy. The final note I have to make on this subject is to keep it to one essay per topic. You can read several essays at a time, but if you are writing an essay based on several different topics, you run the risk of concentrating on too many topics, which will make your topic confusing. Do not just cram several topics in your essay. If you do, you will end up with a very poor grade. Now you should start thinking about how to do something, what does your subject matter relate to, and what is your point of view. Obviously, you will need to practice your arguments at this point, but make sure you work out all the different ideas you have. If you only take into account one idea at a time, you will quickly find that you cannot write a coherent essay, which is quite disappointing. When I look back on my essay writing years, I always look back at this subject that I was writing at the time and how each essay topic brought out a different type of style in me. It makes it so much easier to start writing a single-topic essay every time you begin writing your essay because you are working on a single topic instead of a whole group of topics. So, if you are interested in writing your own essay topics, you must start with what you want to say and what your topic will be. If you are not sure where to start, then simply sit down and write some essays based on the topic you are currently interested in.
